The Language of Colours — Paintings by Puneeta Ranjan at The Bombay Art Society

NewsGazette announced The Language of Colours, Puneeta Ranjan's solo exhibition at Gallery No. 1 of The Bombay Art Society in Bandra, Mumbai, open daily from 11 am to 7 pm between 4 and 10 March 2022, with an opening reception on 4 March.

The show brought together oil and watercolour works on paper and canvas, most of them made over the preceding couple of years during the lockdown period.

The piece recounts her background — a first solo show while still in school, a Chartered Accountancy education she set aside to paint, exhibitions across India and in London and Manila, and a parallel life of workshops, art camps, competition judging and street art in Pune.

On the work itself, it describes a series rooted in her connection with nature — stars, oceans and trees — moving between abstraction and figuration, with landscapes that read as intuitive impressions expressed in colour, rhythm and play.
